My tips on de-stressing
Have you ever felt stressed and overwhelmed by what you think is "nothing"?
I do. I constantly feel that. Constantly. Stressing about what to do next or if you are using your time wisely. Maybe you even stress over the fact that you think you may not be good enough or that you should be doing more and more and more....if all that is going through your head while you are reading this...Stop. Breathe. take a moment...this moment, right now to pause and reflect on the life you've been given.
Here are the small things that have been getting me by through the most anxiety filled week I've had in a while. I hope this helps you in any way at all.
1. Reflecting.
The main cause of the stress that triggers my anxiety is being overwhelmed. By everything.
Even things that I know won't happen for a long time or the fact that maybe those things won't even happen at all.
I was watching A beautiful mind the other day and there was a line there that Paul Bettany said stuck with me. He said "Nothing in the world is for sure, that is the only thing i'm sure off".
It makes sense because we are so caught up in thinking way to ahead of ourselves that we forget about our present. Our right now's and our current moments. which leads me to my next topic...
2. Breathing.
A youtuber I really liked passed away recently, her name was Claire Wineland. For those of you who don't know who she was....Claire was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth and was told that she would only live till the age of 10 years old. Claire passed away recently at the age of 21. Everyday she lived her life as if it was the last and that made her see the world in such a different way than we do. Claire didn't have the ability to be able to even breathe...just breathe by herself and yet she didn't let that stop her from being present and being successful on doing the things she loved.
So Breathe. Know that you will get through this because you are still alive and you have a shot at making yourself better.
3. Writing or Journaling.
This part is optional and may not be for everyone but it's very effective for me. It's a great easy way to relieve something off of your chest. It will also help clear your mind before you start doing something, or maybe you want to do it before you sleep to reflect on the day you've had...it's up to you.
My advice is just to try it out consistently before you say you don't like it. I personally didn't like journaling before but I incorporated it into my daily habit and it has been life changing...plus! if you like pens and notebooks and other stationery but don't know what to use them for...this is a great way to make them serve their purpose :).
4. Music.
When was the last time you sat down or had a break and just listened to your favorite songs without doing anything? Give yourself 5 or may be even 10 minutes to just take a moment and get your mood levels up again. When I feel burnt out, I turn to music and it works like magic. Music will never fail you. Trust me. Make a new playlist or listen to your favorite one, either way...enjoy.
it's a small thing that will make a big difference once you've done it.
5. Nap.
Again...this is optional because I know that most of us are busy and our schedules are always full and you can't find time for 10 minutes to rest your body...or can you? Think of how much time you spend on your phone or other gadgets that eat up so much of what could be a 10 minute power nap.
If you find time to rest for a bit...do it. Maybe you think it's unproductive but in reality, it's what will keep your progress going.
I hope these small tips helped and don't forget. I love you.
Love,
BusyBee 💜
